Congratulations to the San Diego Community College District, Continuing Education, SGPA Architecture and Planning, and PCL Construction Services for receiving recognition for the ENR California 2013 Best Higher Education project for the new Continuing Education Mesa College campus (ENR California December 2/9, 2013 issue). This building brings the adult education non-credit curriculum onto the San Diego Mesa College campus and offers a tremendous stepping stone for returning students to develop their skills and move to a college curriculum at Mesa College. This project will be a huge key in providing opportunities for student success.
The LEED Silver building contains an integrated natural ventilation system designed by MA Engineers that significantly reduces energy consumption while providing thermal comfort taking advantage of San Diego's mild climate and the prevailing westerly breezes from the Pacific Ocean.
