David Umstot, PE, DBIA
David Umstot is a internationally recognized authority in Lean project delivery. He has seen the industry from 360 degrees as a designer, builder, design-builder, facilities manager, executive, owner, and coach. This vast experience allows Dave to bring a unique perspective on how Lean can transform projects and organizations. He is the lead author of the the book Lean Project Delivery | Building Championship Project Teams. David has been coaching owners, builders, designers, and specialty trade contractors in Lean thinking, culture change, and continuous improvement with a focus on high performance teams as part of the company’s core offerings. He has been involved in more than $10 billion of projects delivered using Lean and has extensive experience with design-build on more than 50 projects as owner, practitioner, and trusted adviser. He was the 2015 President of the Design Build Institute of America Western Pacific Region.
Summer Umstot, FMP, Certified Scrum Master
Summer Umstot is Co-Founder and a Principal with more than 30 years of experience. She has worked as a Lean coach and partnering facilitator with more than 40 teams in a wide range of industries including healthcare, pharmaceutical, higher education, biotechnology, research laboratories, refineries, data centers, highways, civic buildings, aviation and commercial construction. These projects total billions of dollars in constructed value. Her training and coaching experience includes the Last Planner® System, Big Room, Values Alignment, 5S, Target Value Design, Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, A3 Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis and Scrum. She is a Certified Scrum Master®, holds a professional certificate in Lean Enterprise from San Diego State University, and is a certified Strategic Play facilitator in the methods of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®.
